There are a number of colleges and universities that require pupils to have 75% attendance for the final exams. If you don’t score as high as you need to, you may lose your eligibility for the exam so it’s best to know exactly how you’re doing. Use our Attendance Calculator to see the percentage of attendance and how many classes you can miss, or if you have fallen behind, how many to catch up on.

What Is an Attendance Calculator?
An attendance calculator is a program that will determine your attendance percentage by calculating the number of classes you attended divided by the number of classes performed. It also provides a solution to a question all students ask themselves: “Can I miss the next class?” Simply type two numbers and get an instant answer, rather than doing the math by hand.
How to Use the Attendance Calculator
- Select your desired attendance – 75% or any other percentage from 50% to 100%.
- Record the number of lectures you attended; this should be the number of classes.
- Enter the total number of classes: number of all lectures conducted so far.
- View your result at a glance: The calculator displays your percentage and if you’re in the safe zone, the edge or the danger zone.
You can also record your lectures per day and see the result in days; and plan accordingly using the Future Simulator to plan attendance for the upcoming weeks.
How Is Attendance Percentage Calculated?
The formula is as follows:
Attendance % = Classes attended x 100 / Total classes
For instance, suppose you missed 40 out of 50 classes, your attendance would be 80%.
How Many Classes Can I Bunk?
If attendance is above the target you can skip:
Classes that can be bunked = (Classes attended/Required %) – Total classes
With 40 out of 50 classes and a 75% target, 40 ÷ 0.75 − 50 = 3.33. That will allow you to miss 3 classes and still maintain an 80%.
How many classes does it take to complete a course?
If attendance is below target then you should attend:
Classes to attend = (Required % × Total – Attended) ÷ (1 – Required %)
With 30 out of 50 classes, you’re at 60%. To achieve 75% you need to attend the next 30 classes consecutively.
